Home
I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. While attending college at David Liscomb University, I changed my major three times. I started out as a psychology major because I found that subject fascinating. However, when I took a required biology course I fell in love with science, especially that pertaining to the human body. I changed my major to biology/ pre-med and started volunteering at St. Thomas Hospital to learn all I could about the medical field. It was during my time at the hosptial that I found myself more and more interested in what the nurses were doing. I watched as the nurses would hold hands and pray with scared patients about to go to surgery. I watched as the nurses would work feverishly to save lives. I was hooked. Nursing for me was the perfect combination of medicine and psychology.
I completed my biology degree at David Lipscomb and then went to Vanderbilt to complete my Master's Degree in nursing. I competed a Clinical Nurse Specialist tract with an emphasis in pediatrics.
I have experience in pediatric medical/ surgical, oncology, intensive care, emergency transport, and school nursing. I have been teaching at Freed-Hardeman University since 2007 and I must say I really enjoy working with college students!
I currently live in Jackson, Tennessee with my wonderful husband Scott and three precious children Emma, Grace, and Jack.
