Although I came to computer science formally somewhat later than most, I have always been fascinated by computers and computing. My first video game--an Odyssey--had a cartridge that allowed me to write programs in assembly language. I probably spent more time with the programming than I did with the race car game (this was a long time ago). I still have the first computer I ever owned. It's a Commodore Vic-20 purchased around 1983 and it still works!
Since then I have been tinkering with computers and writing programs at every opportunity. So, after a brief stint (20 years) as a musician in the Air Force, I became a software engineer working for General Dynamics--until I had the chance to come to FHU.
Now I have a dream job. I get to work in computer science all day while working with (and surrounded by) my brothers and sisters in Christ. And I still get to play a little music every now and then. I am greatly blessed!
