Home
As a proud 1970 alumnus of Freed-Hardeman I have had this school in my heart for many years. The fond memories I have of former teachers, classes, chapel, and classmates have helped me to become the person I am today.
It has been my joy to teach at FHU since 1982. From 1982 through 1994 I taught licensure classes for the undergraduate elementary education majors and worked with student teachers. On February 2, 1994 my life was changed in a tremendous way. At chapel that morning, Don Wright, proposed to me. With the soundtrack from "Sleepless in Seattle" playing in the background and in front on 2,000 students, I accepted.
In 1995 I began teaching in the Graduate School of Education and continue in that capacity at present. I teach students who are earning their Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I continue to work with student teachers.
As I reflect on Freed-Hardeman through the years I can see how God continues to use devout Christians in each generation to teach others "how to live and how to make a living." What an honor is mine that I get to teach at FHU.
