At the undergraduate level, I attended David Lipscomb University and Mississippi State University from 1966 to 1970. From 1970 to 1974 I attended medical school and received an M.D. degree from the University of Mississippi at Jackson, Mississippi. Following graduation, I began a family practice residency at The Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia, finishing the three year program in 1977.
Upon finishing my residency, I began private practice in New Albany, Mississippi, my wife’s hometown. We continued to live there until 1992, when we moved to Jackson, Tennessee to begin practice with the Jackson Clinic of Henderson. In 2006, when the Henderson office was closed, I began my association with Freed-Hardeman University. My current duties include functioning as the campus physician for the university and teaching in the Department of Biology.
My wife is the former Becky Rogers; we have been married since 1971 and have two daughters. Ginger Parks lives in Nashville; Angie Moore lives in Lebanon, Ohio, with her husband David and our two grandsons, Carson and Barrett.
We have just purchased a house in Finger and hope to enjoy many happy years living here and being associated with Freed-Hardeman University.
