As director of the FHU Library, I strive to make the library the center of academics on campus.
This means not only providing the best resources for our students, but also helping students and faculty create a learning community.
In particular, I manage the library and work in the areas of acquisitions, reference, and periodicals.
I look forward to plans for a new library that will allow us to expand our book and archive collections, add to our group study areas, promote academic discussions, provide more technology, and display art and will offer spaces for instruction and meetings, and provide a food and meeting area. It will be a place where everyone will feel ownership and feel encouraged to grow academically.
I enjoy working with a wonderful staff who shares the love of students.
My family share the love of knowledge and books and lifelong learning, especially my English Professor husband, my English major son Allen and my history major son Will, all of whom have volunteered their help with library projects. Even my parents Allen and Marie Barber have volunteered their help with library projects.
