Autobiographical Sketch

Born March 7, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee.  I mostly lived in Memphis, although my family moved occasionally from state to state.  I found myself back in Memphis to complete high school at Overton High School.  I decided to enter college at Freed-Hardeman in 1694.  I then enrolled in Memphis State University.  Before I could graduate from Memphis State University, I was drafted into the military.  After completing four years in the USAF, I returned to Memphis to complete the requirements for a degree and teaching licenses.  My first teaching position was with Harding Academy of of Memphis.  I have continued to attend graduate classes to increase my certification to include Guidance Counseling, Administration, Supervision, Curriculum and Instruction, and Instruction and Superintendency.

I married Sharon Anne Ivey in 1966.  We have three children, Allen, Melissa, and Leslie. My hobbies are those activities that involve the whole family; such as travel, grandchildren, parents, studying about our family’s history, and reading story books to children and trips to places never before visited.
